PURSUED – PART TWO
In Chapter 5, five years of disruption—retirement, the Covid-19 pandemic, and relocation—bring uncertainty and spiritual silence. Heaven feels impenetrable, but a previous divine conversation during Covid reminds me of twelve covenantal terms addressing identity, morality, well-being, destiny, and purpose. I now urgently need to live in these covenants.
Chapter 6 intensifies the chrysalis stage: a dream warns of relational collapse and financial insecurity. The inherited car named “Chrysalis” becomes a prophetic symbol, while a “baptism of fire” defines the existential meltdown.
In Chapter 7, visions, scriptures, and the Feast of Pesach provide stepping stones across turmoil. God’s decree—“Let My people go”—emphasizes the necessity to declare truth and prophecy to navigate suffering. Even amid loss, humor surfaces, particularly in the struggle with alopecia. These chapters portray the chrysalis as a crucible of collapse, covenantal constancy, and crossing, where faith and resilience lead to transformation.

CHAPTER 5
At a fellowship meeting one evening, a young man with a lovely prophetic gift puts his hand on my shoulder and says: “I see you surrounded by flames!”
Ouch! Exactly! How did I get here?
It started with a prolonged period of uncertainty and stress, one ‘thing’ after the ‘other’. I now seem to be stuck in the same uncomfortable and horrible reality, it seems like forever. Prayer seems to hit the roof and return unanswered.
It’s 2021, and I’ve moved from one seaside town to another in anticipation of having a home built, with a spare unit to rent for an income. My worldly possessions fill exactly 7 cubic meters of space in the removal van. I am now living out of boxes, in limbo. Over the next four years, 3 different properties are earmarked, and I go through three exercises, mapping out room sizes and space for furniture, and planning an imaginary life. But nothing materializes.

Chapter 7
20 April 2024In the light of day, I need to take hold of something firm and stable, something unshakable—while all else is reeling around me. God himself, is unchanging; His word is unfailing. I take refuge in what Father has spoken to me many times; this will be my firm comfort in the coming days, however dark they are:
Listen to me, … you whom I have upheld since your birth, and have carried since you were born. Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. — Isaiah 46:3–4
The situation might get really bad… I’m going to need to be rescued!
This is going to be a raging river to cross. But I have my first stepping stone—the covenant of protection.
