Seven and a half decades of life, faith, laughter, and the kind of honest grappling with God that changes everything. This is where I write about it.

A memoir. Not a long, detailed, convoluted narrative of every incident, every twist and turn, every cause and effect. Rather, short flash-backs; snap-shots; events that remain vivid; together weaving a tapestry that made no sense—until much later. And then something really beautiful emerged.

A very enjoyable and enlightening read.
Marjorie is very courageous, very honest, and very determined to find healing for herself. I have yet to encounter a person who was that committed to getting psychological healing. Much of it she worked through on her own, which in itself is amazing. She had the Lord’s help. She invited Lord Jesus to be her healer, and discovered the best doctor ever.
How many of us would first look deeply within ourselves and commit this process to the Lord, rather than run for professional help? Marjorie’s book greatly helped me, as a psychologist, to understand Dissociative Identity Disorder. DID is actually a God-given life-saving strategy, but it’s more than a strategy because real personas with real feelings and real characteristics emerge, who are beautiful, and also difficult.
Although challenging, there’s beauty in it because these personas actually protect the host person until the trauma can be faced and understood.
An identity surges into life, stumbles, warps, shifts, gains courage, attains, settles. It becomes a CV. Or a memoir.
My identity touches yours and hesitates, reaching out tentatively.
